JOIN THE FACEBOOK COMMUNITY FOR VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS

The Volunteer Coordinator Resource Community is a great place to learn new things and talk to Volunteer Coordinators from around the globe. It can even act as a support group at some point in time! Everyone in the group is a Volunteer Coordinator or Manager, and the group is moderated by our Marketing Manager.

Some Other Reasons That This Volunteer Coordinator Community Awesome

1. Closed group
This means we don't let just anyone in. You have to be a current volunteer coordinator in order to be a part of this group. On occasion, we get requests from volunteers to join as well, however, we deny them and write them letting them know that this group isn't a good fit for them.

2. Always moderated
We work really hard to ensure that this group is bringing value to each member. Therefore, our dedicated team reads every post to make sure that content is appropriate, positive and valuable. Your questions will be answered and your advice will be sought out. We make sure that every member is an actual person, looking to grow in their career, and will not be tolerated.

3. Great way to network
Whether you're wanting to ask for advice or give it, there are not many online places that allow volunteer coordinators to network freely. With this group growing so rapidly, chances are, you'll find someone in your state, in your town or in your industry that will be willing to grab coffee with you one day.
4. No spam or promos allowed, ever
We have strict rules enforced around self-promotion. There are plenty of online community groups out there that allow people to promote themselves, their business or nonprofit, their event, webinar, or charity drive etc. But WE ARE NOT ONE OF THOSE GROUPS.  Anyone that breaks this rule will automatically have their post removed without warning, and on their second offense will be deleted from the group.
5. Over 1,600 members!
We can't think of any larger online community. This post averages around 2-8 posts a day, and you will get to be exposed to new topics of conversation within your community!

If you'd like to join our friendly community, you'll need to do two things first

1. Review the rules and guidelines (listed below) before requesting to join

2. Answer the 3 questions listed when you submit your request (if left unanswered your request will be denied)

Rules & Guidelines

1. Read the recap posts.
Each week, we post a recap of the most engaging or interesting topics that were in the group that week. These will be at the top, with additional resources and advice! Check these out to see what the group has talked about in the past! These are also posted here.
2. Introduce yourself.
Once we accept your request, create a post and let us know the organization you represent, the role you have, what you’re looking to get out of this group, and what is one thing that most people don’t know about you when they first meet you. This is a great way to get to know people in the group who may be doing similar tasks as you are.
3. Be an active participant
This is not one of those Facebook groups that you can sneak into and slip into the back row. Our goal is to keep this group active and engaged. If you don’t post, comment, like, share etc at least once every 2 months, then you will be removed from the group.
4. No Promotions or Spam
Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam, and irrelevant links aren't allowed and will be deleted without warning.
5. Be Kind and Courteous
We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
