Chambers Brook Tree Planting Event
Friday, May 03 2024
Raritan Headwaters Association has partnered with the Readington Township WaterWatch Committee to improve the riparian buffer along the Chambers Brook in Whitehouse Station and will be planting 875 native trees and shrubs along the riverbank from May 2-6 from 9:00am-4:00pm each day.
RHA is seeking volunteers to help plant these trees and install tree protection to prevent deer browse. RHA and Readington Township will be pre-drilling holes for the trees, so no to very minimal digging will be necessary during the planting. If you are interested in joining us, please pre-register for a date and time preference. There are multiple days to signup for and there are two sessions each day, one morning and one afternoon.
When registering for this event, please also complete the Volunteer Release and Photo Release forms below. We will continue to provide updates by email closer to the event. Please reach out to Restoration Coordinator, Robert Lucas with questions rlucas@raritanheadwaters.org If you have any questions about volunteering for RHA, please email RHA's Volunteer Coordinator, Debbie Newcomb at dnewcomb@raritanheadwaters.org
Dress for the weather and working in an area with briars, tall grass and shrubs. This project site tends to be on the wet side, so please bring appropriate footwear (ideally taller boots).
The Event will be held adjacent to private property, so specific parking instructions will be provided closer to the event. There will be limited parking available, so any efforts to carpool with other participants would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
