Volunteer opportunities at SIRE Hockley. We are a therapeutic riding center serving kids and adults with special needs in the Hockley area.
Our volunteer base is made up of all different ages, but one of our biggest and most valuable groups are our high school students. We have had kids who start volunteering with us as soon as they turn 14 (minimum age requirement) and stay right up until the time they graduate.

The volunteer commitment can be as little as an hour a week to as much as they would like, with classes being held Tuesday through Saturday with classes both in the mornings and evenings. This is a great opportunity to be outdoors in a fun, safety-oriented environment and make a difference in the life of an individual with special needs. Individuals are not required to have experience with horses. Volunteering usually comes in the form of being a leader (leading the horse) or side walking (support for the rider) and even barn chores or extra projects.
