Tree Stewards of Arlington and Alexandria

Help get rid of the invasive plants in Grandma’s Creek Park, an arm of Glencarlyn Park that extends into the Barcroft neighborhood in South Arlington. Grandma’s Creek flows above ground from 4th St S., and runs into Four Mile Run at 7th St S. This month, we will meet on the other (west) side of Grandma’s Creek Park, where it meets up with 6th St S. Take S Abingdon St and turn left onto 6th St S to get there. Dress to protect against poison ivy and ticks, and bring drinking water. There are some steep areas and lots of dead tree limbs to climb over, so sturdy shoes are recommended. We will have tools and gloves provided by Arlington County DPR, but please bring your favorites if you have them. If you have any questions, call or text me at 703 973-7424.
