Special opportunity with Food Rescue US to rescue a truckload of cantaloupe!
Tuesday, April 16 2024
Similar to the SLOBS participation in a very successful rescue of a truck full of cucumbers (30 pallets!), Food Rescue US has an opportunity for SLOBS to help rescue a truck full of cantaloupe! This is a great opportunity for any boys home during the break to earn hours and participate in a special event with Food Rescue.
Volunteers are needed on Tuesday, April 16 between 9am and 1pm to help load vehicles, assist with distribution and break down pallets. This will likely involve heavy lifting. Volunteer hours will be logged based on the time spent.
Donations will be distributed from the City of Norwalk Department of Public Works Operations Office, located at 15 South Smith St in Norwalk.
When signing up, please reach out to the organizer, Aidan Frisch and Kim Frisch at 917-748-7423, as additional details may be provided over the weekend. As always with Food Rescue, flexibility is appreciated!
Thank you!
