Be A Student Journalist for ED Talk with Larry Mantle

Students are needed to take some journalism-style videos of our ED TALK with Larry Mantle attendees as they leave our event on Wednesday, November 9. The event will be held at the Ramo Auditorium on the Caltech campus from 6 - 7 PM. Superintendent McDonald is a panelist. Student journalists will be showcased at the event.

EVENT SCHEDULE: Wednesday, November 9, 2022
Student Arrival: 5 PM
Doors open: 5:30 PM
Program - 6 - 7 PM
Interviews: 7 - 7 :30 PM
Uploads: 7:30 - 8 PM
Students will use their phones to record these short videos consisting of specific, tbd questions and upload their videos to a PEF Google folder. The questions will be simple and straightforward, along the lines of:
1) What did you learn from our ED TALK?
2) What inspired you?
3) Why do you think strong public education is important?
Two-three person student teams would act as on-site reporters — speaking with attendees just outside the venue.
Students must commit to attending from 5 PM - 8 PM and, if possible, to wear their school gear. PEF will provide lanyards and name badges. Students will earn 4 hours of community service credit and will attend the event for free.
**STUDENTS MUST SIGN UP WITH A NON-PUSD EMAIL ADDRESS TO RECEIVE CONFIRMATION & ANY FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.**
If parents/guardians would like to attend the event with their student, PEF can offer them complimentary tickets. When signing up, indicate in the notes how many complimentary tickets your parents/guardians would require and their email address.
