GSU COL Pro Bono Program

Project Description:
Under the supervision of an attorney, students assist with gender-affirming name changes, birth certificate amendments, and gender marker changes. You may complete intake and screening, draft documents and pleadings, and conduct legal research as needed. This project will take place over the span of a week, and you can work on it remotely at your own pace throughout the week.

How to Sign Up:
1. Have you completed Atlanta Legal Aid's Mandatory Training before? If you HAVE NOT, then please sign up for the Fall Semester Atlanta Legal Aid on Friday, September 15 training here: https://www.trackitforward.com/site/611927/event/849084. If you cannot attend but you want to participate in Atlanta Legal Aid projects in the future, please email probono@gsu.edu. *** If you have not already done the training, you must complete the training before you can participate in the project.

2. If you have completed Atlanta Legal Aid's Mandatory Training in a previous semester, you do not need to redo the training for this project, and you can sign up for this project! Please RSVP for a shift below, and we will connect you with Lori Anderson, the project supervising attorney, at the beginning of the week of your project.
