4:30PM Frog Calls & Bat Monitoring (CAROLINA BEACH)

Wednesday, April 12 2023

4:30PM to 9PM (post-dinner field session optional)
This program is part of Carolina Beach State Park's EE Primer week but is open to all interested public. Registration will be taken by the park.

Join the NC Wildlife Resources Commission to learn how you can help biologists monitor different species across the state from bats to frogs to birds. This workshop will begin with a general introduction to some of the species, discuss different monitoring techniques, and then deep dive into identifying frog and toad calls. The second half of the workshop will be spent exploring the grounds around the park surveying for calling bats, frogs, toads, and birds. Participants are eligible for Criteria 2 or 3 credit of NC OEE Environmental Education Certification.

Location: Carolina Beach State Park
