Ester Williams Plaque Ceremony
Saturday, September 23 2023
Saturday, September 23 at 1:00 p.m. we celebrate the community service and legacy of Esther Glasco Williams (1925-2019). Ms. Williams, a long-time Wilberforce resident, was a graduate of Wilberforce University, Central State University, and Wright State University. Ms. Williams was a teacher and administrator for Xenia City Schools for 24 years. She also served on the Greene County Library Board for 20 years.
After she retired, Ms. Williams served as a dedicated volunteer and docent at the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center (NAAMCC) for many years. She also served as a member, and later the chair, of the NAAMCC Planning Council.
