Ohio History Connection

If you are new to volunteering in general, new to Ohio Village, or just want a refresher on what all we do, this is the training session for you! During this training session, we will cover a variety of subjects to help you feel ready for volunteering, including:
Learning about the basics of Ohio Village, including when it was built and its early history, what the village is now, and what it will be moving forward.
- Sharing knowledge of what life was like in the late 19th century, and how that experience is still relevant today.
- Welcoming visitors warmly, as well as how to engage them in whatever content you're discussing.
- Directing visitors around our campus as needed, as well as answering basic questions about Ohio Village, the Ohio History Center, and our new Collections Facility.
- Getting hands on with activity boxes, which can be used by any volunteer when they sign up for a Village shift.
