Volunteers will log on at 3pm to go over the curriculum plans together. Kids will then log on at 3:30pm.
Attached you will find the curriculum plans. If there is a craft involved, please reach out to Makayla, to schedule a pick up/delivery time for needed items.

Head Coach- Lead for breakout rooms and activities
As a head coach, you will lead the flow of activity and conversation in the breakout room as well as include and lean on your co-coach! In your breakout rooms, you will have students quickly introduce themselves and even re-introduce coaches too! You will start by reintroducing the character lesson and reinforce it as you go over the activities and guidelines. Within the curriculum you will find a script for any teaching but feel free to put in your own words. To encourage participation, call on specific children to answer scripted questions, engage with them as best you can. Feel free to allow "rabbit trails" if it applies to club topic. Helpful tips: be patient, allow time for processing, use simple language, provide definitions and synonyms to difficult words, give affirmation and gently correct if needed, and just have fun!

Assistant Coaches- Super Sidekick
Your role will be to participate in the conversations and games with the kids and to help with crowd control. Duties include monitoring the chat box on zoom, helping kids redirect back to the activity if they get off track and assisting the head coach. You will be encouraging kids' participation and urging the game rules to be followed.

Helpful tips: Repeat what students write in the chat box out loud so everyone can hear and help the student feel included, affirm students verbally, and help the flow of the meeting by muting students if needed or write in the chat to ask certain students to mute and use the chat box if there is too much noise in the background.
