5th Grade Gingerbread House Decorating Class Activity

Gingerbread House Creation and Decorating will occur in the classroom after lunch at 12:05 pm. It will be a fun and festive activity for the kids to get in the holiday spirit. To make this event a success we need a lot of help and volunteers. Thank you!

Please drop off all the goodies/house-making materials to the classroom at morning drop off on 12/12 (or no later than 11:15 AM) so the volunteers have time to have everything prepared.

Please keep your receipts and send us copies so we can properly track the hours. It's 1 hour for every $25 purchase. Classroom Parent Volunteers must be VIRTUS TRAINED.

Volunteers
set out placemats, napkins, plates for each student at their desk, separate the mini candies for gingerbread house décor out in even number of small disposable bowls for each table group (marshmallows, sprinkles, gummies, jellybeans, pretzels, gumdrops) (there are 12 table groups, so 6 small disposable bowls that are being donated for each) Please arrive 20 minutes early to begin setting up the event. Also please bring 2 spoons from home and 2 mixing bowls to make frosting. No mixer needed will be made by hand. Bring some Lysol wipes from home to help wipe down tables after the party. Must be VIRTUS trained. 3 hours

We need 6 lbs of powdered sugar (3 x 2lb bags works great).; 1 bottle of light corn syrup (16 fl oz); 1 bottle of vanilla/almond extract (16 fl oz.); 6 x 16 oz bags of stick pretzels; 4 x 10 oz bags of mini marshmallows. See links above.
