Richmond Tree Stewards

This is the first tree planting of this planting season for the Swansboro West Tree Planting project. This planting will focus along McRand Street in Swansboro West. The meeting spot will be East 32nd Street and McRand Street (next to 52 East 32nd Street). A total of 45 trees were planted across four plantings last season and we are shooting for another 100 trees to get in the ground this season. We are planning for 10-15 trees for the October planting. Again this year, Richmond Parks and Rec. have offered to auger the holes for us so that should make digging much easier, but we need experienced tree stewards to help prepare the root balls and supervise neighborhood volunteers so it is not all hard labor. Many people have this day off so we hope that you will consider joining us for this exciting and fulfilling project. This planting is also during Richmond Tree Week, which promotes the value and need for more trees in Richmond.
