Heat Emergency Response Volunteer
Volunteer to support your community during Heat Emergencies declared by the Homeless Services Network. During these critical times, cooling centers are set up to provide a safe and cool environment for individuals at risk. As a volunteer, you will assist in ensuring the safety and health of everyone inside these facilities and provide comfort to those in distress. When a Heat Emergency is declared, you will receive notifications via email and text. Volunteers can then respond with their availability to assist at the nearest cooling center in need.

During a Heat Emergency, volunteers are needed at nearby cooling centers to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals seeking refuge from extreme temperatures.
Responsibilities include:
• Monitoring the safety and health of all individuals inside the facility.
• Providing comfort and assistance to those in distress.
• Assisting with the setup and maintenance of the cooling center environment.
• Ensuring that everyone stays hydrated and comfortable.
Volunteers will be notified via email and text message when a Heat Emergency is declared and can then respond with their availability to support the nearest cooling center.
