Hello! Thank you for your interest in assisting the CarolinaEast Foundation with our 2020 Santa Experience on December 5th! This event enables the Foundation to better fulfill its mission of assisting hundreds of families with their healthcare needs through our patient assistance program.

In keeping with the bizarreness of 2020, we are providing an “Experience with Santa” with many of the same Breakfast with Santa activities. Temple Church in New Bern has generously offered the use of their grand parking lot to set up our stations and activities early Saturday morning prior to the event opening at 10 am.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for safe pictures. There will be opportunities for the guests to get out for some photo ops. We’ll have two photographers taking pictures which will be emailed after the event. We are including the following stations which need to be set up and managed- Registration, North Pole Candy Co., Polar Express, Beads, Cookie Station, Letters to Santa, Amazing Andy and of course Santa & Mrs. Claus!

We have many many volunteer opportunities available especially with set up at 6:30 am - 9:45 am being the most critical. We ask that everyone wear their mask and practice social distancing. If you're not feeling well or have a temperature, please call Joni, Donna or Kelly and stay home & rest.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING SESSION: We will hold two brief training sessions for volunteers at the Foundation office (2007 B Neuse Blvd. across from the hospital) at 4pm on Monday, November 30th & Wednesday, December 2nd to familiarize everyone with the layout of the various stations, duties and answer any questions.

We anticipate the drive by experience for attendees to last 30 minutes, although we have never done this before. (Set up will be 6:30 am – 9:45) Attendees are scheduled in 30 minute intervals – 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30 Break 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, 3:30 Break 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00

ATTIRE: Christmas & Festive! Breakfast with Santa t-shirts from last year will be available on a first come basis and we’ll be providing each volunteer with an Experience with Santa mask and hand sanitizer. Dress for the weather.

WHERE: Temple Church - 1500 Kingdom Way, New Bern. Parking will be limited to the right parking area facing the church on Saturday. Volunteer check in will be near the picnic table area. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early for the first shift and 15 minutes early for all others.
