Accessibility Statement

Track it Forward is committed to continuously improving the user experience of our platform.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Track it Forward is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Additional accessibility considerations

Our goal is to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards for all volunteer-facing areas (specifically the volunteer and account dashboard) of the Track it Forward web application. However, given the flexible and customizable nature of our platform, organizations that use Track it Forward may inadvertently introduce accessibility issues on their own Track it Forward sites.

Limitations and alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Track it Forward, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Track it Forward:

  1. Customizable content: We allow organizations to customize logos, profile fields, and hour log fields. As a result, some forms may not fully meet accessibility guidelines, such as unclear labels, unclear instructions, or input fields. These may not always be fully compatible with assistive technologies. If you encounter any issues related to customizations, please contact your site organizer.

  2. Third-party content: Our volunteer facing help articles are provided by a 3rd party platform so they may not meet all accessibility guidelines. Accessibility features that we have access to address, such as alternative text, will be available where we are able to customize the content.

  3. Dynamic content: Sites have the option to include a charts page, which includes live dynamic content of volunteer activity. These may not be accessible to users relying on screen readers or other assistive tools. The charts page is optional and can be turned off if they present accessibility concerns for your site. Please contact your site organizer if this is a concern.
