Taylor Middle School Worm Composting Presentations
Tuesday, January 09 2018
8:30AM-3PM
Taylor Middle School, Millbrae
Interested in teaching middle school students about worm composting? This is the opportunity for you! Volunteers will assist Office of Sustainability staff in delivering classroom presentations to middle school students about worm composting. No experience necessary but teaching experience is a plus! You will be trained to deliver comprehensive, hands-on presentations that engage a variety of learning styles. Students first listen to a talk about composting, worms, and the importance of waste reduction. Then, with the help of staff and volunteer, students explore the ins-and outs worm compost with a hands on activity.
We will be needing one volunteer for each shift. A volunteer can sign up for more than one shift.
The Office of Sustainability Schools Program, previously under the RecycleWorks Program, is proud to work with students, teachers, and administrators throughout San Mateo County for over fifteen years. Our primary mission is for students to take action to conserve resources and help protect our environment. Learn more here: http://www.smcsustainability.org/waste-reduction/education-schools/
