Expanding Your Horizons in Math and Science Conference
Saturday, March 17 2018
Location: Skyline College, San Bruno
Volunteer opportunity: Assist and observe the interactive workshop "FBI + Soil = Equation for an Organic Future"
Opportunity details: Provide general help with the four segments of the workshop: worm bin investigation, microbe observation with magnifying glasses and microscopes, harvesting worm castings, and planting seeds. If comfortable, facilitate hands-on investigation of a worm bin and encourage discussion with a group of 4-6 students (grades 6-12). Main points to highlight will be provided and this segment will last 15-20 minutes. Volunteers can choose to observe the workshop to learn and inform creation of their own projects and workshops.
Event details: Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) Skyline is in its 39th year of providing inspiration to 6th through 12th grade young women to learn about topics and career opportunities in STEM fields. See https://skylinecollege.edu/eyh/
