Please join us in this Continuing Education ZOOM slide and lecture presentation with Rod Simmons, Natural Resource Manager and Plant Ecologist for the City of Alexandria, Virginia, as we explore the issues around preserving oak diversity in Northern Virginia. ]

Our presenter Rod Simmons is a plant ecologist who has extensively surveyed the flora and plant communities of the mid-Atlantic region. He is a member of the Virginia Botanical Associates, and works closely with the Virginia and Maryland natural heritage programs. He is a member and a past president of the Botanical Society of Washington, a past president of the Maryland Native Plant Society, serves on the board of the Virginia Native Plant Society, and is a regular field trip leader for all of these organizations. He is a frequent lecturer on native plants, natural communities, ecological restoration, and other related topics.
