Tree Planting Event at Lacey Woods Park
Saturday, November 18 2023
Learn how to properly plant a tree. Getting your new tree off to a healthy start will help the tree mature to its full size and ensures it will provide environmental, economic, and social benefits throughout its lifetime. This tree planting event will be led by Otis Marechaux, the Tree Planting Coordinator for Arlington County’s Urban Forestry Department. Wear sturdy shoes or boots and bring water for yourself.
County Staff will provide the main tools, and Tree Stewards will have protective eyewear, gloves, and other needed supplies. However, if you have a favorite pair of gloves, a folding knife or a "hori hori" (aka soil knife), please bring those items.
Current Tree Stewards (up to 5) are invited to come meet trainees or for tree planting review.
Both trainees and current Tree Stewards must register for this event.
Lacey Woods Park is at 1200 N. George Mason Drive, Arlington, VA 22205. There is no parking lot but ample street parking around the park. Meet at the playground.
