Planet New Canaan has organized Christmas Tree recycling to help New Canaan residents keep trees out of landfills. Residents are encouraged to drop Christmas trees, free of lights and decorations, at the Steve Benko Pool Parking Lot. SLOBs will help with unloading trees from vehicles and removing any remaining lights/ornaments/decor on the tree before the chipping process. Trees collected will be mulched, and the mulch will be spread on the New Canaan Nature Center trails. There is no charge for dropping a tree. Wreaths and garlands cannot be accepted.
**SLOBs volunteers should dress warmly and wear gloves.**
Feel free to bring something to read to fill any "downtime" between drop-offs.
