Erosion Line Morning Volunteer Event

Erosion Line volunteer event, Saturday Nov. 16, two time options, either 10am to noon or noon to 2pm. Volunteers will meet at parking lot E (Horseshoe Lake) parking lot at the kiosk. Rain Cancels.
Volunteers will work under the direction of Bidwell Park Artist-in-Residence and PALS volunteer, Eve Werner. Volunteers will learn how to use a chisel and hammer to make small holes in bedrock to create a baseline to track erosion. The placement of all holes will be determined by Eve Werner. Holes are not to be made in any other location.
Work sites are on uneven and moderately steep trails less than one mile from the Horseshoe Lake parking lot, please come prepared.
Tools, knee pads, and eye protection will be provided. Closed-toe shoes are required. Bring water, a knapsack to help carry tools, and any essential items you need.
Your RSVP to this event acknowledges that you have read, understand and agree to the terms as described in the attached City of Chico release of liability. The event is open to everyone aged 8 years and up. Participants under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult. In the event the participant is under 18 years of age, please complete the attached volunteer application & return to Shane Romain, Assistant Park & Natural Resources Mgr. shane.romain@chicoca.gov or 530-896-7831.
