Skin Cancer Screening
Saturday, May 20 2023
Join the VCOM-Louisiana Volunteer Committee in supporting the Louisiana Cancer Foundation and Cancer Foundation League during their free skin cancer screening event! This event will be held Saturday, May 20th, 2023, from 9:00am-11:00am at Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute (411 Calypso Street, Monroe, LA 71201… on the Corner of Hall & Calypso Street). This event will be free of cost and allow community members to receive skin cancer screenings from local dermatologists. In doing so, we hope to directly help community members recognize the signs of skin cancer and receive adequate care, while observing the VCOM mission statement to “meet the needs of rural and medically underserved populations.”
We ask that volunteers please wear a VCOM polo and khakis or business casual pants. Also, the event runs from 9:00-11:00am, but we ask volunteers to arrive and leave a bit later, to help with set-up/breakdown and in the case of extra community members. Volunteers will help with registering and rooming patients. You may also be screened if you have skin concerns!
If you have any questions, please contact Erika Lytle at elytle@ulm.vcom.edu or 727-512-2021.
