N.E.S.T. Training: Cold Stun Field Patrol (BUXTON)

Tuesday, November 07 2023

2 - 2 1/2 Hours

This training is for N.E.S.T. volunteers who want to patrol for cold stun sea turtles in the field.

In this training we provide an overview of cold stun stranding response. We then have volunteers practice completing a Stranding Report and uploading to SeaTurtle.org/STRAND, Finally, we will discuss when and where to patrol the shoreline looking for cold stun sea turtles and the different communication tools we use to help organize volunteers during the season.

The last half hour we invite returning volunteers to come pick up supplies, meet new patrol team members, and ask any questions. (Returning volunteers should complete an online review LINK TBA).

Note: Volunteers should complete a N.E.S.T. volunteer application as well as a NC Wildlife Volunteer Application if they have not already.
