Volunteer Assistants for Ohio Cup Vintage Baseball Festival
A great way to get to know the Ohio History Connection, this position supports the large public programs organized by the Visitor Experience Department such as Dickens of a Christmas, All Hallows' Eve and Glorious Fourth. The Ohio Cup Festival is an event celebrating the close of the Ohio Village season and plenty of vintage baseball on September 3 & 4.
Responsibilities: Volunteers will assist in the sale of soda, bottled water and beer (no actual cash handling, volunteers 18+), assist in the Emporium with retail sales (non cash register duties), assist with admissions, and other general roles.
Skills Required: Volunteers must have great people skills, be able to interact with all ages, and able to stand for several hours at our outdoor events. These are 3rd person roles (not a character) and are a mix of costumed and non-costumed positions
Time Commitment: September 3 & 4- At least 2-3 hour shifts from 9 am – 5 pm.
Work Environment: You will be working in an outdoor historic village. You have to be comfortable working with large crowds.
Physical Demands: Lots of walking and moving around. May assist with setup, lifting up to 25+. This is an outdoor event so you may need to work in inclement weather.
Training: Brief Training required before event.
Age Requirement: 14+
