All Hallows Eve Event Volunteer
A great way to get to know the Ohio History Connection is to volunteer at our All Hallows' Eve event October 15 & 22. Assist in the Ohio Village for this popular Victorian era focused on traditional celebrations of the season. Volunteers will have the opportunity to dress in period costume and provide interpretation, assist with activities, and games.
Responsibilities: Volunteers will assist with activities, interpretation, crafts, pumpkin carvings, and visitor assistance, admission, front line greeters, among other duties.
Skills Required: Volunteers must have great people skills, be able to interact with all ages, and able to stand for several hours at our outdoor events. These are 3rd person roles (not a character) and are a mix of costumed and non-costumed positions.
Time Commitment: 5pm-9:30pm, minimum 4-5 hours shift, plus one required event training before event.
Work Environment: Volunteers will work in various village buildings performing assigned tasks. This is in a period costume. Volunteer may encounter large crowds in these areas during the evening.
Physical Demands: These roles require working in possibly inclement weather. Most positions are within village buildings but walking in the elements is required to get to the buildings.
