Welcome Club - After School Volunteer

The Welcome Club is an after-school program that assists K-8th grade refugee youth in our community. The club helps create opportunities in multiple areas of integration to encourage flourishing in school and in life in the U.S. Sports, crafts, team building exercises, & homework help are four key elements of The Welcome Club. The ideal volunteer would be energetic, flexible, patient, and understanding of the population that we are working with.
Time Commitment
Wednesday from 2:30pm-5:00pm
Upon sign up, the volunteer will be asked if they can commit to being a consistent volunteer and sign-up for multiple Wednesdays in a month until June 5th.
Location
Local elementary school in Carmichael (address shared upon sign up)
Requirements
Must exercise high degree of patience and flexibility to work with children who may not have a high command of English.
Understand that you are a World Relief representative and are expected to act as a role model.
Record and report monthly volunteer hours served via Track-It-Forward.
Come check it out for the next 3 weeks! However, to join the Welcome Club as a consistent volunteer we ask that you complete an additional background check through the school district.
