Child Family Community

The children of Hidden Valley would like help to grow our garden! Each week a group of 6 children, a teacher, and two adult volunteers will help to plant and tend to our garden. Last year veggies like kale and radishes were a huge hit, many children trying these flavors for the first time! Volunteers will help guide the children through the process of planting- seeds and starters- and making sure they remain healthy during their growth. This hands-on process helps children practice positive social/emotional skills (caring for plants, working with peers towards a common goal), and create a bond with nature. A "green thumb" is not required! Any help will do as we all figure this out together. The hours you volunteer will go towards your 10 required for the year.
