Melissa started volunteering regularly in high school and continued her involvement in college through various clubs and organizations. Through this experience, she became interested in the nonprofit field and passionate about supporting small organizations. After college, she spent 2 years with the AmeriCorps VISTA program to build capacity at small, nonprofit organizations. Her VISTA experience transitioned into a new role implementing a volunteer platform in the community and supporting the organizations that used it.
That experience sparked an interest in software and how it could be used to build capacity at nonprofits, save them time, and give them the ability to focus on other priorities. This led her to pursue an opportunity working directly with a software company that supported small nonprofits. As someone who always enjoyed teaching and answering questions, she found that a customer success and sales role was a natural fit.
When Melissa isn't working with customers, she enjoys camping, watching football, and reading.
