The Real Lives of Volunteer Coordinators
A Blog for us to Learn from Each Other
Track it Forward had a blast at the National Conference on Volunteering and Service in New Orleans this week, and wanted to share a few of the highlights with you:
• Approximately 4,600 volunteer managers attended the conference - having so many dedicated and inspiring people in one place was exciting!
• There were volunteer managers who came from all over the United States, city staff, nonprofits, and foundations, as well as great performances and speakers. It's amazing to be surrounded by like-minded, socially conscious individuals who are working day in and day out to bring about positive social change.
• James got to dance the Lindy Hop with locals at the birthplace of jazz itself. If you don't know what Lindy Hop is, watch this video of New Orleans band Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns swinging on the street corner.
