Melick's Bridge - Annandale Tree Planting Event Day 2 - RAIN DATE (if needed)
Friday, May 09 2025
Raritan Headwaters Association has partnered with Hunterdon County and AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador, Daniel Magda (WMA 8), to improve the riparian buffer along the South Branch Raritan River in Annandale and will be planting 550 native trees and shrubs along the riverbank from May 5-6th from 9:00am-4:00pm each day. We have set rain dates for May 8-9th from 9:00am-4:00pm each day.
RHA is seeking volunteers to help plant these trees and install tree protection to prevent deer browse. RHA and Hunterdon County will be pre-drilling holes for the trees, so no to very minimal digging will be necessary during the planting. If you are interested in joining us, please pre-register for a date and time preference. There are multiple days to signup for and there are two sessions each day, one morning and one afternoon. When registering for this event, please also complete the Volunteer Release form below. We will continue to provide updates by email closer to the event. Please reach out to Restoration Coordinator, Robert Lucas with questions rlucas@raritanheadwaters.org If you have any questions about volunteering for RHA, please email RHA's Volunteer Coordinator, Debbie Newcomb at dnewcomb@raritanheadwaters.org
