Califon Island Park Tree Planting Event

Monday, October 21 2024

Raritan Headwaters Association has partnered with Califon Borough to improve the riparian buffer along the South Branch Raritan River in Califon and will be planting 150 native trees and shrubs along the riverbank on October 21st from 10:00am – 1:00pm.

RHA is seeking volunteers to help plant these trees and install tree protection to prevent deer browse. RHA and Califon Borough will be pre-drilling holes for the trees, so no to very minimal digging will be necessary during the planting. If you are interested in joining us, please pre-register to help us with our planning efforts. When registering for this event, please also complete the Volunteer Release and Photo Release forms below. We will continue to provide updates by email closer to the event. Please reach out to Restoration Coordinator, Robert Lucas with questions rlucas@raritanheadwaters.org If you have any questions about volunteering for RHA, please email RHA's Volunteer Coordinator, Debbie Newcomb at dnewcomb@raritanheadwaters.org
