The Transplant Community Alliance’s Donor Dash 10K, 50K and Family Fun Walk will be an incredible morning of community and celebration for organ donation. The Donor Dash will take place on Feb. 15, 2020 at 9am at the historic Arizona Falls in Phoenix, Ariz.

“I had the occasion to see how organ donation positively affects families’ lives. I am registered to be a tissue, eye and organ donor because I want to give the gift of life to someone who needs it. Although it is a very sad time for a donor’s family, they have the opportunity to do so much good,” says Jennifer D’Oliveira, event organizer. D’Oliveira’s close friend lost her daughter to suicide and made the brave decision to donate her organs to six recipients.

She encourages everyone to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor at DonateLifeAZ.org.

The Donor Dash features a 10K and 5K race, with a 1K Family Fun Walk and Doggie Dash. This family- and dog-friendly event will have vendor booths, spaghetti lunch, music and more! Sign up now and create a team to fundraise for transplant patients in need.

Transplant Community Alliance wishes to help build a strong transplant community and promote an active, healthy lifestyle for post-transplant patients. This event helps raise critical funds for transplant recipients and families under the stress of the financial burden of surgery. The Alliance helps those patients that are the most vulnerable!

Greg Welsh, heart recipient, wants to walk at the Donor Dash with his donor’s mother. "It's a miracle I got this heart and I'm going to do everything I can to take care of it" he said. "I got a second chance and that means the world to me."
