Pruning Walk & Talk at Lyon Park
Friday, October 13 2023
TS Trainees will have an opportunity to learn techniques of Structural Pruning and discover ways TS work in parks. Lyon Park is a community owned rather than County park and Tree Steward Bill Anhut has overseen it's care for over a decade. Bill joins Tree Steward President Nora Palmatier in leading this event. We will examine young and mature trees and apply best practices in pruning. Appropriate tools and their care will be discussed; you may bring your own favorites for discussion. We will be doing more observing of trees and pointing out where cuts would be best than cutting of trees. Wear appropriate clothing, shoes for walking on uneven surfaces and bring water.
Let's meet at the Lyon Park Community Center at 414 N. Fillmore Street, Arlington. Park on the street.
Current Tree Stewards (up to 5) are invited to come meet trainees or for pruning review. Please register
Picnic tables are at the park and those of us who bring lunch can socialize together after the session.
