Zoom Continuing Education Presentation
Hamamelidaceae: The Witch-Hazel Family Fractures
We have two species from this family in our area: witch-hazel and sweetgum. Let’s talk about their history, characteristics, uses, and even cultivars. In the 19th and 20th centuries, these species were in the same family, but now in the 21st century (approx. 2008), they have been split apart. Why?
Presented by Emily Ferguson, Tree Steward Charlottesville, and Master Naturalist.
