Each year since 2010, Many Helping Hands 365 has organized the Martin Luther King Jr. Cambridge Day of Service. On MLK’s birthday, thousands of volunteers come together for an afternoon of service projects at Central Square locations.
This event is now one of the largest community service events in New England.
In just three short hours, volunteers of all ages and backgrounds work on projects ranging from making Valentines to sorting food for city food pantries. It’s a unique opportunity for neighbors to work side by side to accomplish something for those in need. You could be sharing markers and making valentines with another family or sorting winter clothing with a state representative. Everyone learns a little more about our community’s needs, makes new friends and does something incredibly valuable our city on this day.
