OSMIG/DAIM/EMIG Autism Community Fun Day - DO Day of Service
Saturday, April 20 2024
Autism Community Fun Day is a 2 hour event where local community members can come together to promote autism awareness. There will be music, food, various vendors, and activities for all ages.
Volunteering will include a mixture of facilitating the sensory games and interacting with the kids. Volunteers will likely be floating throughout the event participating in whatever activities they'd like.
Attendees will be children on the autism spectrum with high behaviors. There will be an announcement made for safety protocol and the attendee's families and caregivers will be present. No prior experience working with children with autism is necessary.
No formal dress code. An autism awareness shirt or ACOM shirt & jeans is suggested.
*** I believe event will be indoors
Highly encourage those who do the setup shift to also do a full 1-hour shift as the setup shift will be simple.
OSMIG table will be teaching attendees about the bones of the body.
EMIG will be teaching CPR (no CPR experience necessary).
Preferably OSMIG table & EMIG table will have volunteers who are in the respective clubs.
