JMSA Roots
This is a program through Jewish Family Services (JFS) that creates a healthy and safe environment for developmentally disabled adults to connect with the Middletown community, through games, crafts, music, and stories. Starting September 4th, this event will be held nearly every Wednesday of the semester, from 5:30 - 8:00 PM, in one of the recreation halls at Temple Sinai (~3 min from school). The sessions kick off with a brief (~10 min) video or discussion about an upcoming Jewish holiday, followed by an activity to help volunteers (you!) engage with the participants. And the best part is, EVERYONE is welcome! There is nothing inherently Jewish about this program nor do volunteers need any prior experience or knowledge about it. Each session will earn you 2.5 TOUCH hours.
