The History of The Jockey Game

In February 1967, the very first Jockey Game took place. It was the brainchild of Holy Angels Athletic Director and Coach Callei to raise funds for the Holy Angels Athletic Program. Located directly across the street from Santa Anita Race Track, Holy Angels has served as a school and parish for many jockeys, trainers, and workers.
The close relationship between Holy Angels School and Santa Anita Race Track promoted many exciting, and often hilarious, games as the jockeys have fought hard not to be outshone by the current 7th and 8th-grade boys basketball teams.

We are looking for parent volunteers and donations of water for this event. Please label your donations for Jockey Game and drop them off with Ms. Kathy at the front office by February 13th at 12 pm.
