St. Aloysius Parish

The food donations that are collected at St. Aloysius Church need to be transported to the New Canaan Food pantry each week.

This is a parent and child service opportunity as the student and the bags of food donations must be driven from the church to the food pantry.

The student who performs this service, may log 1/2 hour of a Corporal Work of Mercy and Parish Service. 

The service should be performed on Saturday prior to the 5:00 Mass so that the bins are empty for weekend donations.(However, Friday pick up and delivery is acceptable if necessary)

Students should bring disposable bags with them to transport the food - be sure to leave the collection bins in the church. The donations are to be picked up in hallway of the church that is next to the chapel (away from the school-side of the church). The New Canaan Food Pantry is located at St. Mark's Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge.

For your planning purposes, the food pantry is open 24/7 for drop off but St. Aloysius church is usually locked after the 5:30 pm evening Masses.

Families are welcome to donate additional non-perishable groceries to the food pantry BUT THE STUDENTS WILL NOT RECEIVE ADDITIONAL SERVICE LOG TIME.
