Midnight Run Hometown Team (Spiritual Work of Mercy)

Saturday, February 08 2020

Due to the ongoing flu and viruses, we WILL NOT ask our students to give up their coats this year!

We invite our 7th & 8th graders to come for an evening of activities at St. Aloysius where you will participate in an experience similar to what the homeless are living to raise money for the Midnight Run organization. Warming yourself over a garbage can fire . . . hanging out in a graffiti refrigerator box and listening to stories of the homeless experience from adult chaperones who have been on many a midnight run. We will also spend time praying for the homeless. If you are willing, we will ask you to give up your coats for an hour to truly experience what the homeless feel like on the streets. Midway through the experience, volunteers will come to feed you, bring you blankets, your coats and warm you with their care and attention, just like your peers will be doing in the city! Your night also begins at 8:15 p.m. and ends at 10:15 p.m.

If you are able to -- We ask each teen on the home team to solicit sponsorship money of $50 each which will be donated to the Midnight Run organization. Ask one family member or friend for $50 or ask 5 people to sponsor you for $10 each!

You will earn two hours of parish service, other service or spiritual work of mercy
