THIS IS AN AT HOME PROJECT!
As we begin this new year, we are asking all members of our parish to come together with LOVE to brighten a soldier’s day with a Valentine of encouragement. Our troops, who are deployed thousands of miles away from home, need to be reassured that America cares about them. Let us help provide love and support for our nation's military who make daily sacrifices for the freedom America enjoys. So, whether you are 2 or 102, won't you please take the time to make or write a Valentine and show your love? OUR GOAL IS 1,000 VALENTINES!

You may have done this in your class -- if you did not do in your class OR if you would like to do more and encourage your family to do some, please make 10 cards.

Guidelines for Cards

♥ Compose a handwritten letter, note or handmade card. Soldiers feel extra special when they receive handmade, individually created Valentines.

♥ Keep your cards to a size of 8 1/2" x 11" or under for ease in shipping and distribution.

♥ Do not use glitter or materials that easily break off during shipment.

♥ Cards from children/students must include a first name only.

♥ Keep your messages positive! Start with a salutation, such as "Dear Hero" or "Dear Brave One." All cards will be screened.

♥ Do not include personal information in your letters. Draw a picture, write a positive message or quote, let them know you will be praying for them or just wish them Happy Valentine’s day and thank them for their service.

Say a prayer when you finish each card for the solider that will be the recipient!

ALL CARDS SHOULD BE DROPPED IN THE BOX IN THE CHURCH NARTHEX (LOBBY) BY JANUARY 15 OR TO THE PARISH OFFICE BY JANUARY 17, SO THAT WE CAN GET THEM MAILED!

IF YOU DO 10 CARDS, YOU MAY CLAIM 30 MINUTES OF SERVICE.
