Catholic Relief Services Food Fast (DIOCESE/SPIRITUAL/CORPORAL)
Saturday, February 22 2020
St. Philip Parish in Norwalk will be hosting their annual Catholic Relief Services FoodFast, a hunger awareness experience for Catholic youth.
FOODFast 2020 will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 22, 2020, in the St Philip School Hall located at 25 France Street. Throughout the day we will pray, learn about hunger both here in Fairfield County and around the world, and also have FUN!
The Middle School program will end at 7:00 pm Saturday night with the participants expected to return on Sunday morning at 9:00 am to participate in the Closing Mass.
The Closing Mass will be 10:00 am Sunday morning, February 23, 2020, where all Participants along with their Families will come together to break their fast at the Lord's table with the Eucharist.
Young people will fast from food throughout the day while participating in activities including prayer, reflection, educational games and service projects before concluding with Sunday Mass. This is open to those in grades 6-12. There is a registration fee of $40 and additional fundraising is encouraged.
Those who participate can earn ALL of their required 10 service hours -- you must stay for the entire day and return for Mass the next day. Chris Otis will send an email after the event indicating how your hours should be tracked.
In addition to signing up here, all must register at the Food Fast Registration website at the link below:
