SPORT BUDDIES practice for this week due to weather will be held indoors in the Auxiliary Gymnasium at New Canaan High School from 9am - 10am. If you have not been to this location, simply follow the high school entrance toward the back fields and the gymnasium complex is at the end of the building.

This is a great opportunity to help out at the STAR weekly recreational exercise and athletics program for young people with developmental disabilities.

In Sports Buddies, program participants play recreational games while working together with volunteer “Sports Buddies” who encourage them and help them to build skills. They work with the students on skills like teamwork, general exercises, stretching, running, calisthenics, group play, skill development such as shooting, dribbling, arm and leg movements, and pick-up basketball games.

Students MUST be accompanied by a parent the entire time.
Location: South School black top if the weather is nice (this is located in the back of the school near the fields) - take the Gower Road entrance. If it's raining than it will be inside the gym.

You may claim this as OTHER service. Participants must bring a positive attitude, smiles and words of encouragement while they interact and play sports with these special buddies. Wear comfortable athletic clothing and sneakers.
