On 3/16/21 volunteers can meet up at our Botanical Garden (5 Victory Avenue). This area of the park is about ten acres of gardens, history, and art and is a great way to engage with nature! Volunteers will help to prune, weed, and mulch certain areas of the garden along with our staff.
City Park can provide water, limited bug spray/sunscreen, and first aid items. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottles to cut down on plastic cup waste. Gloves, bathrooms, tools, and other project materials will be available on site for volunteers as well.
Unfortunately all of our projects are outdoors here at City Park, so if we get any rain it may be an issue. We can work in a light rain, and if it turns to a heavy rain we can seek shelter and try to wait it out. If we have a severe thunderstorm/lightning, we may have to cancel or just try to wait it out under shelter.
