What:
Join us at the Columbia as we partner with the Parks and Recreation work group and the Black Swimming Initiative to promote water safety and the environment. Volunteers will promote pre-registration of our popular Yard Tree Giveaway events in the fall. We have merchandise and flyers that you will distribute to help you get people to register. A short training as well as a list of talking points will be provided to brief you on the Yard Tree Giveaway program to make sure you feel prepared.

Portland’s urban forest consists of 220,000 street trees, 1.2 million park trees, and innumerable private property trees. Urban Forestry is involved in managing or regulating all of these trees to differing degrees. Urban Forestry staff issue permits for planting, pruning, and removal of all public and some private trees and are on call 24/7 to respond to tree emergencies.
