We're cleaning up the gardens to get ready for summer! Sign up to help in celebration of Earth Day. Some of the things we'll need to do:

All garden areas around the property:
• Remove all stalks at their bases near the ground. Use a hand hedge trimmer and/or lopping shears.
• Dig out turf grass
• Clear grass and dirt away from steel edging

Rain garden:
• Remove stalks
• Rake leaves
• Prune dogwood

Other general considerations:
• Wear sturdy shoes and long socks
• Spray legs with tick repellent
• Leave the dead leaves in the garden (with the exception of the rain garden). It doesn't look as pretty but it's great for the soil and for the insects.
• Put all organic waste in a pile at the northwest corner of the parking lot (marked with orange construction cones and orange tape)

Please bring gloves and your own garden tools. Due to the ongoing presence of COVID-19, please follow physical distancing guidelines and wear a mask if you have to work near another volunteer.
