VCOM Louisiana

Join Dr. Flower's in helping at the annual Community Health and Wellness Expo! This event will take place on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Monroe Civic Center Arena. The event is mainly hosted by Holistic Vibes and will feature vendor booths promoting free health care screenings, healthy cooking demos, and more. They will also host free wellness classes highlighting mindfulness, yoga, and Zumba, as well as sessions with health and wellness panelists. In volunteering at this event, we are promoting the VCOM mission “to prepare globally-minded, community-focused physicians to meet the needs of rural and medically underserved populations and promote research to improve human health.” Volunteers will positively represent VCOM and osteopathic medicine as a whole at this health-based community event!

We ask that volunteers wear a VCOM polo and comfortable/appropriate attire. Volunteers will assist at the station that they sign up for. This will include tasks such as blood pressure checks, preventive health screening and introduction to OMM as well as passing out informative health flyers and handing out water and teaching on the benefits of osteopathic techniques.
