VCOM Louisiana

The Clinical Skills workshop and Standardized patient will be an event for undergraduate and pre medical students to learn how to take a basic history and exam followed by a standardized patient scenario. Volunteers will be the instructor, facilitator and standardized patient with a fake case, prewritten. Volunteers will be expected to guide students on how to take a comprehensive patient history as well as a heart, lung and vital physical. Volunteers should be able to ask any questions undergrad students may have on the mechanisms of any pathologies that arise from irregular vitals or abnormal findings on patient exams.

Please arrive by 8:45am in Lecture Hall 1 for a short briefing/training before the event.
