Providing Lunch to the TransLatin@Coalition
Tuesday, November 02 2021
The mission of TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC) is to advocate for the specific needs of the Trans Latin@ community and to plan strategies that improve their quality of life. COVID 19 has greatly impacted the health and safety of Trans Latina women in Los Angeles County. To respond, the TransLatin@ Coalition never shut down their offices or services. They have implemented both telehealth, social distancing, and other safety measures to ensure that both TGI people accessing their services and their staff are safe. Throughout the pandemic, they have continued to provide daily warm meals from 12:30 to 2 pm. You can join Associate Dean Brad Sears in this service activity by helping to provide a lunchtime meal on Nov 2nd; dropping off clothing for their clothing closet during the same time; dropping off food for their food pantry; and/or making a donation. The daily lunchtime meal feeds about 25 people today. If you want to make a donation, every $15 will provide one warm meal: https://www.translatinacoalition.org/ For more information about volunteering register for the event and/or contact Brad Sears at sears@law.ucla.edu.
